What is World Maths Day? (World Mathematic Day In English): Maths is a broad and useful subject in every area of ​​our life.  Many programs are organized to bring mathematics to the society in an entertaining way.  One such program was started on 14 March 2007 with an online competition.  Which was very popular.  After this interesting and successful program of mathematics, it was decided to celebrate Mathematics Day every year on the international stage.  That day was March 14.  It is written in the American language as  3/14 which is the value of pi of mathematics.  That’s why World Mathematics Day started being celebrated every year on this day.

This program of mathematics was celebrated as World Mathematics Day.  Perhaps the American way of writing it behind celebrating Mathematics Day on March 14 is hidden in 3/14, which is the value of pi that everyone is familiar with. 

On hearing the name of Pai, the feeling of being an Indian reaches its peak in the heart.  Because it was Aryabhatta, the father of Indian mathematics, for the first time that the correct value of pi up to four decimal places was told to the whole world.

Just as pi is an infinite number of digits.  In the same way, the contribution of Indians in the field of mathematics is also infinite.  Aryabhatta presented the method of finding the circumference of the whole earth, the volume of the sphere, the area and discovered the method of writing the number with the help of letters, vowels and consonants. 

Brahmagupta discussed all the operations of zero and Bhaskaracharya made his valuable contribution in the field of mathematics through his book Lilavati.  In the Vedic period, the sages were successful in discovering the so-called Pythagoras theorem long ago by giving different geometric shapes to the Havan Kund. 

In the ancient text called Fee Sutras, there is a discussion on the generality of irrational numbers and infinity of numbers.  Acharya Pingal, the great grammarian, has mentioned zero in his book Chhandshastra in 200 BC and today it is the practice of writing numbers all over the world.  All of them are completely Indian.

Not only the discovery of zero, decimal, but its indication is also mentioned in the inscription found in the reign of Maharaja Jayavardhan II i.e. 876.  From where the current sign of zero is taken.  Sridhar Acharya, Mahavir, Brahmagupta, Bhaskar, Acharya Hemchandra did extensive work on arithmetic.  Which Ramanujan also carried forward and illuminated the name of India by many researches like Partition Number, Mock Theta Function.

Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on 22 December 1887 in Tamil Nadu and died on 26 April 1920 in Kumbhanam.  He was from a Brahmin family.  At the age of 12, he had gained knowledge in trigonometry and developed his ideas without any help.  Only at the age of 15 did he obtain a copy of George Showbridge Carr’s Synopsis of Elementary Results in Applied Mathematics. 

Srinivasa Ramanujan’s childhood was spent in poverty, he used to borrow books from friends to study in school.  Srinivasa Ramanujan took up the job of a clerk to meet the financial needs of the household and used to solve maths problems till late at night when he got time.  Once an Englishman saw the letters written by him and he was very impressed by them and sent Srinivasa Ramanujan to the Professor of Oxford University to read.  Then he recognized the talent hidden inside him and after that he got worldwide fame. 

Ramanujan’s papers were published in the Journal of the Indian Mathematical Society in 1911.  He had compiled about 3900 results mainly with identities and equations without any help.  Many of those results are original and novel such as the Ramanujan Prime, the Ramanujan Theta Function, Partition Formulas and Mock Theta Functions.  These results inspired many further research.  He discovered his theory of divergent series and worked on the functional equations of the zeta function.  Let us tell you that the number 1729 is known as Hardy-Ramanujan number.
