A2P SMS
Any sort of traffic in which a person is receiving messages from an application is known as A2P, or application-to-person messaging. Marketing messages, appointment reminders, chatbots or virtual assistants, notifications, and one-time passwords (OTPs) or PIN numbers are just a few examples of A2P messaging. A2P SMS is strictly interpreted by carriers in the US and Canada, who classify all message that goes through Twilio (or other messaging application platforms) as A2P. A2P messages may be governed by national laws (e.g. France and India). Customers should be aware of the delivery implications of these restrictions, which may include message filtering by recipient carriers or delayed message delivery.
