Bromine Is Primarily Used As A Catalyst And Synthesis Agent
Bromine

The third halogen is bromine, a nonmetal that belongs to group 17 of the periodic chart. Thus, it shares characteristics with fluorine, chlorine, and iodine and tends to fall somewhere in the middle of those of the two nearby halogens, chlorine and iodine. The seven electrons in the fourth and outermost shell, which make up bromine's electron configuration, serve as its valence electrons Bromine Market. It is therefore, like all halogens, one electron shy of completing an octet and is hence a strong oxidising agent that reacts with numerous elements to complete its outer shell. According to periodic trends, it has a midpoint between chlorine and iodine's electronegativity, making it more reactive than iodine but less reactive than chlorine.
