Oldschool Runescape isn't as well-known as the 2007 version any more
I like outlasting people, lmao. When GIM first launched I was trying to RuneScape gold find the sand-crab world and this guy of level 40ish was killing the top two at this point. The bottom two remained unharmed because the first one that he killed would come back before killing the second. I started killing the bottom two and was told to jump however I kept killing. He brought his main and started killing them all using an axe. It took about two hours before he finally left to go home.

That's fine. If people would be so in a rage against every update that doesn't meet the "2007" standards, then there would be no content and would die out in a year. It's def required. My comment was more to point out that OSRS is so different than the 2007 version of Runescape that OPs reasons to not want Summoning is not true.
I don't have an opinion on Summoning myself However, if someone's going to stamp their feet and say "no" you must either come up with a reason for it or simply be honest and tell them "no I don't want it because I don't like it". Do not just come up with a bullshit reason to validate your point of view.
Yeah. OP's reasoning is that he doesn't want the summoning because it will alter the meta to look more like RS3 are not true because summoning was introduced in 2008. The whole time before RS3. OP could have simply said you don't like summoning rather than trying to make complicated arguments about why it doesn't fit into the game.
What exactly is RS3 meta? Let's start with. RS3 came out in 2013. And yet I've see so many people clumping every material from 2008 to 2012 in it into the RS3 category. In terms of combat the meta makes use of magic's synergy effect with critical strikes while spamming your ripper demon familiar scrolls.
If players are scared of buy RS gold the idea of a Steel titan that trivializes older bosses, RS3 already has the ability to make bosses immune to common damage. The normal Nex that is in RS3 is immune to the familiar attacks, but is also struggling with accuracy . So, people are more likely to use Nihil instead. Nihil which increases accuracy.
