Pumped Hydro Storage Plants Are Used To Stabilize The Grid's Load During Peak Loads
Pumped Hydro Storage

Pumped-storage hydro plants store and generate energy by transferring water between two reservoirs at different elevations. They are a flexible, dynamic, efficient, and environmentally friendly way to store and deliver huge amounts of electricity. Excess energy is utilised to pump water to an upper reservoir during periods of low electrical consumption, such as at night or on the weekends. The Pumped Hydro Storage Market turbine pumps water back uphill in a pumping motion. Turbines are used to release the stored water when there is a strong demand for electricity. Similar to a traditional hydroelectric plant, a pumped-storage facility operates by repeatedly using the same water. Electricity is produced by water power without the usage of fuel, which results in relatively low running expenses.
