Cyber Knife is a system for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). SRS combines stereotaxy, or three-dimensional target localization, with radiation beams from multiple directions precisely cross-firing the tumour. Because of the high degree of precision, a very high dose of radiation can be delivered to the target while causing minimal damage to the normal tissues and structures surrounding the tumour. The Cyber Knife Market ideal goal is to noninvasively ablate the tumour with a high radiation dose. It has been demonstrated to be a viable alternative to surgery for small tumours and certain medical conditions. Linear accelerator'-based radiosurgery was pioneered. In many ways, these systems differ from the original Gamma Knife system.
