A 53-year-old man in Germany has defeated HIV infection. So far only five people are known to have recovered from this serious infectious disease worldwide. Researchers have given this information. Since the name of the HIV-infected patient is kept confidential, the researchers have referred to him as the 'Dusseldorf patient'.
Researchers said – this is the fifth confirmed case of HIV treatment. The information about the successful treatment of this patient was given for the first time in 2019 during a conference. However, it could not be confirmed at that time whether this patient has fully recovered or not. Now it has been announced that even after stopping the HIV medicines 4 years back, this patient does not have any HIV virus in his body.
