The SDET vs. Automation Engineer debate can be resolved using the same reasoning.
Software Development/Design Engineer in Test is referred to as SDET. An IT expert who continues to be involved in the software's development and testing is referred to by the position. A SDET's role might be viewed as a middle position between that of a developer and that of a tester. In addition to taking part in the creation of test scripts, SDET Training also contributes to the process of bug fixing.
It is extremely usual to think of SDETs as a replacement for Automation Engineers due to their relationship with the testing phase and their automation skills. This is not totally accurate, though, and it is crucial to weigh the pros and cons of using a test automation engineer over an SDET.
