A SDET is a person who is both a developer and a tester, and as such, they may contribute to both the development and testing phases of a software release. SDETs are employed as IT experts who begin contributing to a project at the planning stage and assist in automating the testing process. In addition to taking part in the creation of test scripts, SDET testing also contributes to the process of bug fixing.
