Jaipur. Lokendra Singh Kalvi, the founder of Karni Sena, died of cardiac arrest late on Monday night. Doctors confirmed this at around 2 pm. He was 80 years old and was battling ailments for a long time. He was undergoing treatment at Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur. He was admitted here in June 2022 after suffering a brain stroke. Lokendra Singh Kalvi had led many major movements of Karni Sena and was also involved in many controversies.

Funeral will be held in native village

According to information, the last rites of Lokendra Singh Kalvi will be performed on Tuesday in his native village Kalvi in ​​Nagaur district. After getting information about the death of Kalvi, a large number of people are reaching his native village. According to the information, his last rites will be performed at 2:15 pm.

 

Karni Sena was founded in 2006

Lokendra Singh Kalvi had laid the foundation of Karni Sena in the year 2006 in the name of Jagatjanani Karni Mata. In the year 2008, the film Jodhaa-Akbar could not be released in Rajasthan due to protests by the Karni Sena. Salman Khan's film 'Veer', which came in the year 2009, was also opposed by the Karni Sena. The army claimed that Rajputs have been misrepresented through the film. Karni Sena also opposed the historical TV serials being aired on TV. He also strongly opposed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmavat' in the year 2018. The whole country came to know about the Karni Sena due to the controversy that happened at the time of 'Padmavat'.
