Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery Approach Increases The Mobility Of Oil From Reservoirs
Cost-effectiveness: MEOR can be a cost-effective way to enhance oil recovery

While Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery offers several benefits, it also has some limitations. Some of these limitations include: Limited applicability: MEOR may not be applicable in all reservoirs. The technology is most effective in reservoirs with high water saturation and low permeability. In reservoirs with low water saturation and high permeability, MEOR may not be as effective. Uncertainty: MEOR is a relatively new technology, and there is still some uncertainty around its effectiveness.

While there have been several successful applications of Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery there is still a need for further research and development to fully understand the technology. Long lead times: MEOR can take a long time to develop and implement. It can take several months or even years for microorganisms to colonize the reservoir and start to produce biosurfactants and other substances that can improve oil recovery.
