The company cites a "growing team and better instruments", Jagex says it will no longer solely be in the business of OSRS Gold acquiring gold and resources with RWT but also buyers. Its goal is to cut down the demand and also the supply.
Jagex has announced that it will have to send "messages to players who we've identified as being involved on RWT" within "the next few hours". "For anyone involved, we want to make clear that this is your one und only caution," they added.
Other measures the developer could consider as punishment for RWT activity are set to include wealth removal , which is basically getting rid of gains that are not legitimately earned from players' accounts on the server level, as well as potential bans.
RuneScape's PvP feature, known as the Duel Arena, will also have stricter rules in place. Jagex affirms that the mode "has been a flashpoint in this toxic behaviour", and that 38 per cent of all bans related to RWT games to date originate from this aspect in the game. It says that already amounts around "thousands of bans every month".
So, the developer appears to be going with the nuclear decision, and says "we're looking in the long-term to remove through the Duel Arena out of RuneScape entirely." Until then, it will implement "some short-term measures" to tidy up PvP "until our development teams can bring an important update that completely substitutes for the Duel Arena next year."
They will also have a limit on the amount of GP (or gold points) that players can bet on the outcome of a game at the Duel Arena. Participants will be allowed to Cheap OSRS Gold bet "no more than 50m GP per duel". Other rules haven't been detailed as yet.
