Targeted Therapy are medicines or other substances that stop the development of unwanted cells and infections by interfering with specific molecules (referred to as "molecular targets") involved in the development, progression, and transmission of disease. Other names for targeted therapies include precision medicines, molecularly targeted drugs, and molecularly Targeted Therapy. A new field called target therapeutics provides numerous potential treatments. A cure for diseases with significant unmet medical needs, such as orphan diseases and conditions with a large global burden, may one day be discovered thanks to targeted medicines.
