POC testing is sometimes referred to as quick diagnostics, remote testing, near-patient testing, remote testing, mobile testing, and bedside testing. The phrase generally refers to any patient medical test that is administered on-demand and yields fast findings. Handheld electronics or molecular collection tools make up the majority of Point-of-Care Diagnostics equipment. POC test instruments include, among others, thermometers, home pregnancy tests, quick strep tests, and blood glucose metres.
