A has the advantage of giving you a more detailed, real-time view of your blood sugar levels than Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Devices other tools like glucometers, which measure it from a drop of blood, or glucose tests at the doctor's office, like fasting plasma glucose or HbA1c. These alternative techniques only offer a single measurement, or a moment in time.
This might not accurately depict how much your blood sugar is rising and falling (known as glycemic variability [more on that below]). They also don't show long-term trends or responses to certain foods. Even if you used a glucometer to check your blood after eating, you can't see the whole rise and fall trend, so your reading can be inaccurate.
