Krishna Janmashtami 2022
Janmashtami marks the occasion of Lord Krishna’s birth, who is Lord Vishnu’s eighth earthly avatar. The triumph of good over evil is symbolized by the birth of Lord Krishna. It is also known as Shri Krishna Jayanthi or Gokulashtami in various locales. Vasudeva secretly brought Baby Krishna across the Yamuna River, whereupon he exchanged the child for Nandraja’s daughter. The traded baby morphed into Goddess Durga when Kansa tried to murder it, warning him that death had come to his realm and would come back to avenge his actions.
