Packaging Tips To Avoid Product Returns
Protective packaging is an essential item in the eCommerce business. If your products are of good quality and are of good brands, but your packaging materials are of low quality and are not strong, the products may get damaged during transit and may have a bad impression on the customers. Your packaging supplies must be strong and sturdy so that the customers receive their items in one piece, or else, the customer will return the retail item in exchange for a new one. The process may create major issues, as it is messy and tough. Use different types of packaging products for different retail items. Packaging Midlands is an online store in the UK, where you will get different types of packaging supplies such as double wall cardboard boxes, large bubble wraps, foam rolls, mailing envelopes, packing tapes and so on.
Here are some of the tips that we need to follow to make our packaging better.
● If you do not use void fillers, during the transit the products will roll inside the box and become prone to breakage and other damages. Use void fillers such as foam peanuts and kraft paper rolls/ brown wrapping paper rolls to avoid such situations.
● Use corrugated cardboard boxes to pack heavy, lightweight and fragile items. Buy cardboard boxes online or from the nearby shops. It offers rigidity. It also protects the items from shock, impact and vibration. Use single wall cardboard boxes for small and lightweight items and double wall cardboard boxes for the heavy and sturdy items.
● Use polypropylene straps to restrict the movement of the boxes during transit. They bind the boxes inside the transit vehicle. You can also use ropes to tie the boxes with the vehicle.
● Use bubble wraps for electronic devices and delicate and breakable items such as glass. Wrap the larger items with the large bubble wraps and for the smaller items with the small bubble wraps.
● Overfilling the boxes with items may be dangerous. The items may fall out and get damaged.
● You can pack multiple items in one box. But for that first wrap them individually with bubble wraps.
● Use those packaging materials that survive shock, vibration, impact, compression, humidity and so on.
