Step 1: Check the ink cartridges

  • Remove all the ink cartridges. Check whether the ink level in any of the ink cartridges is low.


  • To check the ink cartridges, open the Canon IJ Status Monitor.


  • Select the Maintenance tab and click View Printer Status.


  • If you find that the ink level is low, replace the particular ink cartridge with a new one.


Step 2: Cleaning the print head

  • Remove the print head and clean the copper contacts on it thoroughly.
  • Hold the print head under a hot water tap and flush out the dried ink inside it. Now, dry the print head.
  • Reinstall the print head. Make sure that the ribbon cable connector is fixed correctly in the print head.
  • Check if the Canon printer error code B200 appears again.

Step 3: Reinstall the printer driver

  • If the issue persists, reinstall the printer driver as the error may also occur if the printer driver is corrupted.
