Rules for the use of Capital Letters
(1) The first word in every sentence should begin with a capital letter.

- We go to school.
- Do you like to read?
- You are such a good person.
- Use your smile to change the world.
(2) The first word in every complete line of a poem should begin with a capital letter.
| Examples: |

- How do you like to go up in a swing, Up in the air so Blue.
(3) Use a capital letter for the letter “i” when it stands alone.

- You and I went to a show.
(4) The first word and all important words in title should begin with a capital letter.
| Examples: |

- Jack’s story is called, “The Little Lame Duck on the Pond.”
(5) The word north, south, east & west should begin with a capital letters, when used and if they refer to the place. When you’re using a direction to describe nothing but the direction, lower case letters are the ones to choose.

- Eskimos live in the North.
- Sheron is from the Far East.
- I live in West part of India.
- The sun is weakest on the north side.
- I travel south at weekends.
- Go south then east.
